Glow plug fuse
Lame question time again, sorry. When the ignition is on should there be power either side of the fuse even when the glow plugs are off? And next, a few years back when I had a bit of a nightmare electrical problem an auto electrician wired up a 50 amp blade fuse instead of the original metal strip, however I have just found this has melted slightly, should I try and go back to the old style or do I just need a better quality fuse, thanks

Re: Glow plug fuse
Slightly confusing question! There should be voltage showing either side of the fuse but no power (current) flows until the relay switches it to the glow plugs. I would revert to the original fuse arrangement myself but it depends upon what the electrician has done to fit a blade fuse.

Re: Glow plug fuse
I did warn you
I could read voltage either side of the fuse, I think the relay is ok as I checked there was no voltage on the glow plugs once the engine was running, is this normal?
