Hi all,
I am in the process of restoring a coachbuilt T25 but need to replace the custom 'wide' mirrors it had. Have seen brickwerks and others selling the truck style mirrors but Im not sure whether they sit far enough out on the van so I can see behind me! If anyone has truck mirrors could you do me a favour and measure how far they sit off the van?
Help much appreciated
Cheers,
Chris

Land rover defender mirrors can be fitted with a bracket made by a forum member (rowlesey) allowing something like these to be fittted.

Search defender mirror and you'll see some ideas.

This is the link. https://club8090.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.p ... r#p8163299" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The mirrors on the link in the last post may help as they have long arms.
May not be the right solution, but something to consider.

truck mirrors give a pretty good view, the glass can be mounted 2/3 outside the frame for extra wide view, normally the glass is mounted 2/3 inside the frame
my pickup once had Tischer demountable which is wider than the body and had truck mirrors fitted to suit and the Syncro Gypsys and other coach builts often have them

Measured about halfway up the window and from the runner between the drop glass and the quarter-light.
The truck arm is 11" out.
The centre of the mirror itself is about 2" from the vertical section of the arm.
So, with the glass on it's outward setting (as Aidan describes) the mirror centre is 13" from the window and the outer edge about 16".

not trying to peddle my wares here but if you like the look of the defender conversion you can buy "130" mirrors or "long arms" which are i think off the top of my head are around 290/300mm. could be an idea to look into?
