Hi everyone,
So I have found some coolent in a small dent on the top of the engine. It is beneath where the pipes where the coolent is connected to the cylinder head. I can't see any leak or wet spots on the pipes them self. It seems like in the cool standing it may be 1-3 ml of coolent over about two weeks, so not to much. I think it's a bigger leak when it's hot, but most of it evaporates.
So I was wondering if this is an old pip leaking, or maybe the head gasket? Any ideas? I did not see any oil in the coolent. If it is the head gasket, how much would it cost to change? Would it be best to get it to a mechanic to have a look?
Thanks Martin.

check the hose that goes into the block near the cylinder head, mine leaked there before, turned out it the hose had a slight cut in it, no idea how. Also look for dried coolant( it will look a bit like furry lime scale) if you see any thats where the leak will likely be.

Could also be the coolant flange on the side of the block, just to the left of the fuel pump. Two coolant pipes go in there, and apparently they have a tendency to warp and leak. They are made of plastic I think, mine was, mine is late. I think early may be metal. Fitted with an o ring underneath them. As I recall there is a hollow in the block just below the flange as you describe.
