squeal / whine from front end

Post by Walrus »

I took Beaker for his first good run this weekend after having the brakes & front wheel bearings changed a couple of weeks ago. When I got home I noticed there is a whine / squeal / whistle? from the front end, going slow (just parking) - any advice on where to start looking for the cause?

First chance I've had to look at the van - and the squeal has gone! Checked all the nuts are tight (they were), checked for leaks (there was a bit of oil/grease on the CV joints), shunted it up and down the drive... and nothing. Taken it for a run around the block... nothing (aside from the usual rattles). Don't know if I should be happy its gone, or has something *really* gone and it will break down halfway to Yorkshire... :?
