Heat shrink solder sleeves

Post by Ian and Lins »

Has anyone used these little monkeys? I've never seen them before but they look dead useful to those with slightly shaky hands (like me).

Are we going on anything else?

Hi yes I have used them and they are great for nice clean new copper but may not be so good for old and corroded cables as you cannot see how well the solder has worked if that makes sense?

They are used a lot on high end cable assemblies, but normaly to connect screen on braided cable. Very small amount of solder. I am not sure I would like to rely on the connection if any current is to be passed down the cable
