Can Door Handle Refurb

HI all
Just wondering of any body has taken the moving parts to bits on the standard cab door handles.

My original ones (with the correct VW original key) have broken. The aluminium part with the 2 sticking out rods has broken.

I dont want to have a rubbish aftermarket one with more keys

Is it possible to get replacement inner parts for the OEM handles as the barrels ect are fine.

The only other thing I thought of was to buy the cheapo handles and swap out the barrels to the OEM ones? Is this possible?

The problem you'll have with yours is locating the roll pin which holds fork on to end of lock barrel and then getting it out. I gave up, used some big grips and broke away what was left of the fork.

I actually bought 2 x brand new cheapos from fleabay for £20 the pair and replaced the rubbish aftermarket barrels with the OE VW ones from my old handles

Perfect job, brand new handles with the old keys!!

Brilliant, thanks for confirming that its possible to do that!
My handles are very corroded so I think thats what I'll do.
