Thanks chap, I'll store the details for future searches - I'm beyond being shocked at prices when I was told how rare the rhd PAS rack was. No wonder they don't come up for sale very often. I'd budgeted £1000, starting to look like they won't be any change. But like any mods, it'll add at least £1000 to the value of my van.......right? :rofl

I know, that's what spurned me on to ask the questions. He doesn't have any uprights but I may bite the bullet...

Yes but I've heard your arms shrink from the current 'Popeye' to 'Olive oyl'. Can you confirm this please?

In my case, it made the difference of otherwise selling due to a shoulder injury (a result of arm wrestling with Olive Oyl?). I was therefore willing to pay the extortionate £300 (including uprights if desired) provided I removed it all myself and replaced the uprights with my own to leave the shell rollable. I declined the uprights as I did not wish to immobilise my own car 200 miles from home. I do not regret my decision at all.
All bits fitted straight on to my own car (once I was home) with only additional expense being a new filter (from Brickwerks) and a new drive belt. One happy man :ok

Wychall, £300 for all the components? Was this 20 years ago??? At that price, it would be mad not to install it. At some point in the future, I'd be delighted if you could furnish me with some pics of reservoir location, pump/belt arrangement, etc. Certainly no rush but if you catch yourself in the engine bay with phone in hand...... :ok

Many thanks.

Don't forget these too..!!

When I bought mine I got the following:

Steering column
UJ joint
Pump
Reservoir
Pulley
Rack
Uprights
Steering wheel

I had to buy the hose kit I linked in and an extra one too ( I think it was this one: https://www.brickwerks.co.uk/power-stee ... -pump.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; )

I don't think pics will be any help as this is my engine bay. If you want any component pics I will willing take them for you. For what it is worth the reservoir is far left front, and the pump is just right of centre front.

Wychall's would be a South African van Different engine etc.
Yours would be the same as mine - A DG engine.

I think our reservoir would be in a totally different place. Rear right of engine bay I believe.

Exactly that Smiffo, I'm in no rush but I'll get a load of photos at some point or another. The problem is, I never attend gatherings where I could see other vans in the flesh and make notes.

When I get my van back from the surgeons, I will post some pics of mine - if you don't already have some by then.
I'm guessing a few weeks.

PM me to prompt me if I forget. I will even show you the route the hydraulic hoses take, if you need that.

Cheers Smiffo, that will be much appreciated. Fear not, mine will not be fitted by then as I'm currently running an engine that is down on power and may give up on me at any time.
