Non VW small bit of welding near Mansfield/Chestfld?

Hi,
This clip off a jack has failed and I have to buy a complete assembly (£30+) to fix it. Would it be possible to weld it back together?

Or weld it into this clip;

Anyone around the Mansfield Chesterfield area want to earn a bit of beer money?
