Best replacement step panels

Post by craigy345 »

Hi,

Van going in for welding and paint next week !!! 87 1.6TD Westfalia club joker

Need to get some replacement step panels for my welder.
Loads of different options - I only need the low level panels (just the floor section of the step not the sides etc..)

Any advice on where best to buy obviously varying quality and want o get the best available.

Need to purchase ASAP to ensure they arrive on time.
Thanks in advance

Might be better just fabricating from sheet steel if you don't need the whole step .

When at vanfest I looked the Al Schofield panels which looked good. I'm pretty sure the ones at the show has the Giles holes in for the rubber mats but the online picture does not show them :

Thanks for the quick reply.

I was going to get the step panels because they are relatively cheap and just to make it easier and also get the holes in the correct place for the rubber step mats.

Was looking at these

Anyone got any experience of these panels are they any good or wafer thin!!!?
Are these better/worse than the Schofield ones? or should I be looking else where?

Thanks again. :ok

most panels ive ever bought for my van were thin and took fudging to make them fit as for steps it was the rubber maps that rotted mine but were only rotton on top so I replaced them with some thicker zinctec steel and still good over 3 years later, and I didn't refit the rubber mats.
