Hi everyone,
I am currently trying to get a 1980 T25 back on the road after it has sat for many years. It has a 2.0l Aircooled engine on which the original fuel pump no longer pumps fuel, so I have purchased one of the common 'facet' type electric ones as a replacement, and several metres of 1/4" fuel hose.
Is there a recommended place to mount these pumps? I am thinking of bolting it to the inner face of the substancial member which runs longitudinally i.e a few centimetres downstream of the fuel filter. It is then straightforward to drill up into the area behind the fridge area to access my planned power/relay connections.
I do not intend to remove the broken mechanical unit, and will be energizing the relay from the ignition switch.
Any tips gladly received, as this issue is standing in the way of starting it up for the first time. More threads with more questions soon though, as I am completely new to these vehicles!
Thanks,
Neil

i think , depending on what pump you have (wether it is strongest sucking or pushing), most mount it under the sill just behind the tank outlet.......
it would be wise to change all the fuel piping and make sure you only have one filter, before the pump..........and if i were doing it i would relay switch the pump supply...
