I'm sure you are right, but it's 'want' not need you said.
If you have the money then go for it.

After I have rebuilt my DG I 'want' to build a DJ :D

Then you'll no longer need your DG.
Because you'll no longer want to go back to it.
However you word it :D

What sort of speed can a DJ manage on a steep incline?

Let's talk speed, then. My Frankenstein 2.1 MV achieved 95mph...before I backed off trying to push said brick through air.

So a recap.
I need to spend more to want the better one that I need to be happy with as I want it? What's the difference with mpg? Not that it's a factor just a quandary

Subjective question really.
But I can say from experience travelling along a motorway with inclines is no longer noticeable, in speed reduction.
I have a short hill near me, the 1.9 held its speed to the top in top foot flat down
The 2.1 accelerates easily up the hill, foot backed off

Fancy Dissing my compression figures!!! The rings are just getting worn in!!! we are up to 185 PSI now after 500 miles. That's almost 13 Bar. I will settle for that. My rebuilt DG only ever managed 165psi. And By the way the difference is quite marked the DJ is much much better on LPG. Even with the Auto gearbox it has so get up and go whereas the DG was foot down and pray if you wanted to overtake.
