1.6td jx oil level query

Post by quattrodave »

Just completed an oil and filter change, topped up with 4.5l of oil and checked the level after running the engine (completely level surface) and the level is below the min mark !
Have I got the correct dipstick (red handle on top)?
Is there a measurement someone can provide so I can check it ?
Thank you

Yes it is, repaired it last week with new 'o' ring and washer, well 3 washers actually as it wasn't sealing, that would only raise the dipstick by about 3mm though. Dipstick handle is black, end of dipstick tube is red, hope they're the correct ones.
Is the oil capacity exactly 4.5l as I reckon another half litre or so would bring it up. Don't want to overfill though so leaving it at the moment
