wind out awning

Post by dbz864 »

Hi i'm looking at buying and fitting a fiamma or similar wind out awning, its going on a vw factory hightop (holdsworth) 1990 which has different gutters than standard t25s, i believe the gutters are the same as early vans. Has anyone fitted one to there t25 using these gutters or have you bolted it to the hightop somehow ? Never had any experience of these awnings so any help would be fab.

We've got a fiamma on our hard body pop top(1983). Bracket riveted above the gutter just before the top. Awning and bag slides into a small channel on the bracket and is secured with a security screw at each end.

Hi have a 81 leisure drive high top. I just ground a couple of mm s off the brackets that clamp into the gutter rather than cutting the fibreglass high top. Worked fine :ok

OP is talking about a wind out (F45S/F45Ti) which uses gutter mount brackets, your CaravanStor is a pull out and uses an awning rail..different fixing altogether.

Thanks for the replies everyone! the problem is my gutters are a bit different than most so not sure if i can get the mounts to fit. Im looking at a wind out or pull out, the ones in a "bag" look smaller to mount so may have to go down that route. thanks
