I'm doing this "mod" today along with some other bits and pieces so will get some pics up later on tonight, keeping the flouro in as there a big hole in the trim behind it but adding a remote controlled 5 metre RGB strip all the way around the pop top hole, also has a "music" function to make it flash like a disco lol

I bought the strip from Ebay, cut to length and initially tried to solder the leads to the copper contact pads but found it very difficult to get a good joint so I had to go back and the pre wired contact blocks that you crimp on with pliers

Re: Led interia lights
Dont have flo tubes but all 4 of my interior courtesy lights have been changed from festoon bulbs to LED.
I found small panels of leds which fit inside the plastic diffuser and connected straight to existing wiring. Much brighter light.
On the 2 in the rear I found a softer light LED which is a bit nicer to sit and chill under - I also replaced the small black 3 position switch (which had become worn and vague) with a nice rocker switch.
Above the sliding door, I made a twin super bright led light for the times when lots of lght is needed.
I'll dig out some pix and E D I T if I get a minute
