Right am on the last bit of my leisure battery wiring...
I don't know what cable size to use for my sterling charger to starting battery and alternator to sterling charger. The run is about 2 metres and my alternator is 90 amp rated. The sterling is a 160 amp rated alternator/ battery charger.
My mechanic thinks 110 amp rated wire is ok, but I think we need 220 amp rated ie 35mm2
Who is right?
correct wire current rating

Re: correct wire current rating
If the alternator is rated at 90A less the power taken to at least run the engine about 15A, then that is all it can put down the cable to the sterling. 110A is more than adequate.
