we have put new guides in and one is not sitting properly, I cant get it in, any advise please

Difficult to say...the drilling in the guide isn't straight?
Perhaps the guide wasn't installed squarely which would be unusual given the guide follows the original head drilling.
The valve is bent? it looks used.

Put a hard of my spare engine from my caddy and plug the hole up
So far :rofl
