Hello, hoping someone will have experienced this and even better resolved it. Have had my van for a long time, and just in the past month the clutch has begun squeaking when I press it - more so when it is released. Some times the squeak is worse than others, sometimes it goes away completely only to return the next day.
Asked local garage to look at it and whether it was a sign of a bigger problem, they said they didn't think it was and just tried greasing it up, which did seem to work at first.
Anyone know what it might be? (Please use simple words for me please, not an expert by any stretch of the imagination!)
Many thanks
(Have a 1985 water cooled 1.9)
Any ideas about squeaky clutch pedal?

Re: Any ideas about squeaky clutch pedal?
Is there any play in the peddle, the brake and clutch pedal wear at the pivot point. It could be a factor !! ?

Hi, thanks for the reply. I don't notice anything different about how the pedal operates from before, it doesn't seem any harder or softer as far as I can tell.
If it is worn at the pivot do you know what I would need to have replaced?

After you have taken the foot off the pedal reach down and see if you can pull it up any more. Not a definitive test but if you can pull it up some more it could well be worn.
Above is how mine was when it failed completely!

Wow! Thanks for showing me that. I'll test that out tomorrow. Can I ask, was it an expensive job to replace? I won't be able to do it myself. Do justkampers sell the parts for it?

Welded it up myself and redrilled ,replaced clevis pin. I don't know if anyone sells new sets. Just Krappers would be my last port of call though.

Thank you. Didn't realise JK had a bad rep! I know a garage who could do the welding for me though. At least it's not the entire clutch.
Thanks again

Try a bit of googling !
JK are OK for plastic camping tat, plates and mugs and caravan type stuff, but for anything T25 they are known for bits that either don't fit or don't last ..... It not a new thing .

Re: Any ideas about squeaky clutch pedal?
Just to post a conclusion - got a different garage to look at it, they have greased it up again and the squeak has been cured! Plus it was free - all good!
Thanks for all the advice.
