jx diesel fresh injector pipes fitted no fuel to injectors

I had 2 leaky injector pipes at the top of the union so fitted fresh set of pipes from vwheritage now can't get fuel to the injectors? Any tips

Undo the pipe unions off the injectors slightly & crank the engine over with the throttle wide open until you see diesel seeping out. Then just tighten them up & the engine should start

No joy and it's flattened the battery. To me it's airlocked but can't overcome it. Might have to try and vac the fuel through the pump from the outlet
