Hi, can anyone answer what my seem a daft question. I have a 2.1 Automatic and am in the middle of fitting a second hand gearbox. As I am swapping some of the bits and pieces over, I thought I would just check a few things. On my original gearbox you can blow through ( using a air line ) the cooler and one the secondhand gearbox you can't blow through.
Which is correct , I am thinking the one you can blow through or does the cooler have a valve in to stop the flow of water until everything has reached temperature ?
Thanks

Re: Gearbox cooler
there's no temp valve afaik, I have what I believe is a renault one in the workshop and the water chamber can be blown through; Rob can you measure the banjo bolt hole centres on the VW one please just in case they are the same as this one I have here as it is a Valeo unit and maybe still available new or refurbished and this one has the numbers on it
Re: Gearbox cooler

Re: Gearbox cooler
I was just concerned that I had a problem with the chamber and that contributed to the death of my auto box. .?
