Convert twin square headlight back to single round

I uprated my lights with relays but the square had a far better spread than the round.

wide bumper, plastic cladded vans got the square ones.

To which they suit.

If you want to be brighter why not fit an HID kit?

Depending on how it was done. All you should have to do is bend the metal tabs back down and alter the wiring back to standard.

Nothing to do with wanting more than the amount of light the headlamps should be pumping out had VW designed the wiring properly. Fitting relays get's the full voltage to the headlamps. Square lights just ensure you get that extra brightness over a larger area.

Ha fisrt problem and an old post solves it Was wondering why my newly aquired 1990 Td had round lights. Now I know . It's been converted from a basic van.

Next problem. How can I tell if the windows are standard fit or later I need two sliding windows panes for it.

hi looking advice just bought t3 campervan twin headlight , small inner lights not wired . was wondering what smaller inner lights are , and what they should be wired to. any advice much apreciated. thanks in advance for any help. also would like to switch to single round headlamps is ther much work involved in switching thanks.

What age is your van? Are the headlights round or square? If it's a late one (89 ->) then twin square headlights are as fitted in the factory and the inner pair are the main beam and the outer pair are dipped headlights.
If they are round, the inner pair could have been fitted by a previous owner and their purpose is anyone's guess. Do you have dipped and main beam headlights?
