The best place to get a full set of seals?

Post by 5haunicu5 »

Hi,

I'm undertaking the restoration of a 85 caravelle. Paint stripped and welding done I'm about ready for paint. The next stage would be popping the windows and doors together again. I was wondering if there was anywhere that sells a full set? Would it be cheaper to buy by the meter? Any advice is greatly received with thanks in advance.

Cheers, wishful thinking on my part. Trying to keep the cost down.

VW Emporium for Caravelle ones. They have the chrome trim insert and if like me you want to keep it original, you'll need the right seals and inserts. Don't faff with 'by-the-metre' stuff as it will look terrible and be hard work. Fit the right ones and NEVER buy them from Just Kampers - theirs are badly made to say the least.

Although custom and commercial sell seals, none of those they list are actually Caravelle ones.

Nice one. Time is at a premium and had wondered about factory fitted windows with inserts,, in some catalogues they're listed as retro fitted. This is reassuring. Thanks again

Ask to speak to Chris and tell him what you've got and he'll advise you accordingly.
