Ok, next one....
Fog light. The van failed on an inoperative foglight. It's a conversion from a German van (before our ownership). On investigation, the wire to it was tied off and clipped back. The old foglight position doesn't have the little tang inside its bulb holder so it looks to me as though the van has never had a working foglight...
So. I get my multimeter out and check:
Bulb = ok
Plug = no volts at foglight wire
Switch = works but no volts
Fuse (no7) = no volts....
Check van number two. No volts at fuse no7 but foglight works. Remove fuse, foglight keeps working. Remove seventh fuse from other end (says wipers, but just in case), fogs and wipers keep working.
I'm baffled.... Any ideas please?
Considering running a wire direct from utility fuse panel to switch and lights and bypassing the whole lot. Is this a plan?

If it was me I'd just add the foglight wiring as per the factory wiring diagram, adding wires and terminals where necessary. A right rear lamp cluster *with* foglamp would be required, and a T3 foglamp switch which I'd put in the normal place. Can't see the benefit in doing anything different for what should be 'standard fitment' on a van resident here.

It is fuse 27 one of the auxiliary fuses above the fuse box for the rear fog lamp on UK wiring.

There's only one fuse and it looks intact. Also the van was a German feuerwehr before being converted so I guess the wiring is German.

So. Some German vans didn't have foggys, so there was nothing there.
However, the van had been modified to fit a fog and at some point, probably during our engine change, the wire was cut in the middle and tied off. So, I've run a new wire, fitted a fuse and new connectors. All good again.
