G12 Coolant with Subaru EJ25
Has anyone used G12 with their Subaru conversion?
I bought 20 litres when it was on offer and would prefer to use it up and not buy more blue coolant.
This engine swap has been expensive enough!

I think so long as it's OAT compliant which it will be, you're fine. Get someone else to confirm thoughprintmonkey wrote:Has anyone used G12 with their Subaru conversion?

It's never ending! I removed the heads for skimming before fitting new head gaskets which has now turned into new valves etc..
Good times.

I only ever use prestone in my subarus but any coolant that's ok for alloy engines is fine ,, for the ultimate coolant use Evans waterless coolant as we use it in the high power subarus with great effect , expensive but subarus have never been the cheapest engines to buy for anyway lol
Iv found my conversion to be quite cheap so far ,,my last Subaru engine build cost 10k for the bare engine so 2-3k doesn't seem so bad then lol

Cheers domino, I'm a long way off 10k, but there's still a bit to do so you never know there could be another surprise expense on the horizon.

You will have fun bleeding the radiator using waterless coolant

Can I ask why ? , subarus can be a right pain to bleed but iv got it down to a fine art now but is the VW system a pain aswell then ?

There is always a suprise with a Subaru engine lol ,, specially when you put a turbo in the mix aswell

Re: G12 Coolant with Subaru EJ25
The whole bleeding procedure on these vans revolves around the coolant expanding to fill the top of the radiator and push the air out, waterless coolant doesn't expand

I got you ,, got a few tricks I'm going to try when it comes to bleeding the system and filling it all up so should be ok but being new to the van side of things I'm sure I'll have fun by the sound of it lol , subarus can be terrible at times and some have to be burped a few times to get the air out but im so used to them now I can normally get them done first time , unless it's a 2.5 as there worse to get air out of
