Oil pump

Post by Westfalia1990 »

Hi All
Hope someone out there will be able to help with torque settings for the two bolts that attach to the oil pump on the 1.6TD JX engine. It seems to be notching on the fly wheel pulley. Could that be a sign of over tightening?
Also the torque settings for the crank shaft pulley bolt? Says 90nm on the packet but this doesn't seem enough?
Thanks :D

20 nm for the oil pump,it should bolt up without any restance,I gave my pump a wiggle! 90 nm and 1/4 of a turn with a " breaker bar" for the crankshaft bolt.
I dont think, so I'm not[do I exist?]

Definitely give the pump a wriggle! Mine didn't seat properly so had to take the sump off again to redo it. Ever since that I have given it a little wriggle to make sure it is seated correctly when replacing one.

Excellent, Thank you both for the advice. Hopefully I will get some use out of it this summer.
