I need to change my fuel hose from tank to pump on a 1981 2.0 Aircooled camper and need some advise in 2 areas.
1. Emptying - I plan to run the fuel as low as I dare, then raise the rear on ramps (so whatever is left runs to front of tank, away from outlet), then let the engine run until it stops. Is that the best way of doing it ? I don't know how much will be left in it, so I am reluctant to just remove the hose from the tank and let it pour out.
2. Clips.
The existing clip looks something like this I think

Whats the best way of getting that off without risking any sparks !
3. The new clips provided look something like this

Do these need a special tool, and if so, is it easier to use something else, eg like this

I can't comment on the hose clips, except to say that I've used clips like those Halfords ones in the past. They need to have a lip on the edge, so that the edge doesn't bite into the rubber hose - flat jubilee clips without the lip aren't recommended.
But as for emptying the tank, it's not really necessary in my experience. There should be a filter just after the tank outlet, so what I've done in the past is clamp the old hose on the tank outlet closed, renew everything else up to that point, and then quickly pull that last hose off the tank and push the replacement on. You may lose a little fuel, but it doesn't come out so fast that you can't put a finger over it to stem the flow if necessary.

Thanks for that. Sounds like a great plan which I hadn't thought of.
Being rather paranoid and inexperienced with working with petrol, i'm worried about how to get the old hose off the tank outlet as I'm not familiar with that kind of clamp. It looks like it will need some kind of tools and brute force and I don't want any possibility of making a spark.

use pincers or wire cutters to remove the old clamps
