Engine number - 2.1 petrol

Post by hightop ratty »

Hi
I have looked around the wiki etc but cant find.

Where will the engine number on my 2.1 petrol engine be ?

It's not the original engine (surprise, surprise), after we blew the original 1.9.

It's got the B on the crankcase after the numbers.

Cheers
Rob

Here under oil breather tower but should normally start DJ or MV for a 2.1 DF or DG for a 1.9
this is a VW recon number.

Cheers mate

I'l have a look in the morning - i got really excited last night when i found the crank case numbers (trying to check push rod tubes to see which were leaking), only to find out on google it was a part number only :-/

If I update my V5 reg'n doc with the engine number, will it help with identifying parts when the supplier can only find stuff by the registration number ?
(99% of my parts come from brickwerks - have learn't over the years - these are the guys to trust (& their service is brilliant) :-)

Cheers
Rob

Registration number on parts websites is the origional spec afaik, if you change engine you are on your own.

Use the full pc website for Brickwerks, the mobile site is pants

if you need to change pushrod tubes these are good, Brickwerks don't stock scat afaik, theirs are probably better but double the cost.
