Ideas to repair bottle tray in fridge door

Post by Sir Brixalot »

My wife got a bit optimistic filling the fride and energetically tried to wedge the door shut. She broke off the ridge that the bottles tray slides onto. Is there any glue strong enough to hold the ridge permanently or another workaround? Thanks

That's right, blame it on the wife... Anyway, screw the tray to the door. Done the same thing myself.

Buildbase sell a product called CT1 . It comes in a tube so you will need a 'gun' . Its brilliant and will stick almost anything . Apparently you can even use it underwater ( fixing fish tanks etc .its about 9 quid

Hi, if its a hard plastic, try plastic weld from DIY stores, the stuff you use to stick waste pipes with. I use a similar
Product at work for sticking Perspex and hard styrene together. Put the bits back together and using a small brush
run the solvent along the joints.

Get a piece of lining from a fridge at the local tip and cut to shape, glue to bottom of tray. I kept the lid lining from an old chest freezer for such uses. Polystyrene cement was the best solvent glue that I found for this plastic.

Thanks for the tips. I've got some gripfill already so I'l give it a go and then go on to try these idea if it doesn't work. The prices for these fridges has gone mental recently.
