Post by farmer john »

I know many of you will be fed uo with the likes of me & my problem. I have an 82 T25 camper resprayed & ready to roll(nearly)! engine 1.6d
(skin on rice pudding pulling a challenge!!) I also have a skoda octavia 1.9tdi(110bhp) motor ,still in car yr.2000?(too old to accept universal chip
change). Advice so far: "Ooh you cant put that in there ! " Why not ? Its a 1.9 vw lump?! Where can I find the info/expert to answer this problem? :?

Anything will fit, and I have seen some crazy engine swaps.
All you need is money, if you have plenty then it's an easy process.
The AGP/AQM engine is no harder to fit than any other 1.9 tdi VW diesel.
I would suggest that as they are so similar the engine carriers are on the shelf, I know the sumps are
AGG 2.0L 8V. (Golf GTi MkIII)

If its a rotary pump, proceed as per 'Passat' AFN swap (several approaches have been taken with this). Electrics on a 2000 car will be 'late' so some ECU signals such as glow plug status are on Canbus only. Earlier ECU could easily be fitted though to workaround that. Immo can be disabled, you don't need the clocks. If its a PD car (115hp ?) than that's a different story..

E D I T. Just seen where you are. French vehicle regs are less enlightened as regard allowed mods, if considering an engine-swap proceed with caution.
Syncrosport (taking a break as of summer 2024)
Volkswagen Transporter, reloaded.
