T4 question (non T25!)

Big lumps of metals and spanners. Including servicing and fluids.

T4 question (non T25!)

Post by Mk2Tony »

Hey Guys, Not too long ago I purchased a 2003 T4 2.5tdi hightop to convert out and sell. The only problem with it is that the turbo doesn't kick in until 3000 revs. I have moved into my new house with garage and driveway now so I can get started on it.
I was just wondering if anyone has come across this turbo problem before, I have read about the N75 valve which controls the boost so maybe this is faulty? someone else has said it maybe fuel pump timing also.
Just asking the question incase someone has come across the same issue, any suggestions appreciated!

I have put the question on brickyard but no replies as of yet, they don't seem as helpful as the folk here though to be fair!

lol I was waiting for a response like that! its a nice van but much prefer driving the 25, the T4 is a little side project to keep me busy as I had it at a good price and surprisingly its not an ex building or plumbers van so in really good nick!

I have posted on the brick yard but no joy yet, is the t4/t5 club on faceache? I wouldn't sell my T25 for anything newer, after using the T4 to move house over the last couple of weeks its nice to drive, but when I jumped back in the 25 it felt so much better, even the driving position etc. It might not be as fast or as good on fuel but I think it looks better, sounds better and is way more comfortable!

It's a proper forum- costs nowt to join unless you selling I think- google it. Your right on the T25 but other half thinks I'm getting to old to be crawling underneath and bending into the back altho the T4 is 19 ROLFyears old so I've already been doing much the same thing ! Jack

That's the thing, at least the t25's are a lot nicer to work on, I find everything is easier to access and less electronics! The T4 is lovely but I find it just doesn't have the character. I would quite happily keep them both but the T4 is too much of a money spinner when its converted, and my garage is missing a mk2 golf gti! I will have a look on that T4/5 forum now for some info

Cheers
