Syncro Speedo Drive

Help!!

I've got a 1987 T25 Syncro with a newly failed speedo. The drive unit has failed. I'm told it's a nylon self lubricating spiral. We can't seem to find a spare anywhere and machining one looks very difficult.

Anyone got any ideas please?
