Clutch slave cylinder pushrod lengths

Post by mshaw1980 »

Hello

Apparently there are two different size pushrods used in the slave cylinder on a t25. Does anyone know which engines/gearboxes used the short / longer pushrods? Lengths would be handy too if anybody knows :-)

Cheers

the two different length pushrods are not interchangeable one is FAG one is ATE and the two slave cylinders despite being differently made achieve the same stroke at the lever arm, if in doubt just fit a complete new cylinder cheap one is £15 and has the better metal reinforced nylon cup on the end of the push rod not the "pooh" thin black plastic one that always breaks and cracks

are you getting 10mm stroke at the lever arm ?

are you running hybrid clutch with wbx friction plate ?
if so did you fit the spacers between the flywheel and the pressure plate ?

Hi Aidan

Yes using a subaru clutch pressure plate and a wbx friction disc. Spacers have been fitted between the flywheel and pressure plate. Using a new meyle slave cylinder with the nylon cup pushrod you describe. Can't tell the clutch arm travel yet as gearbox has been taken out as I had put the clutch arm on the splines in an incorrect position, meaning clutch didn't disengage. Rjes informed me of this mistake and also of the different pushrod lengths.
