Sliding door detail

Anyone know if a panel van sliding door locking mech etc is different to a panel van door, I'm not sure what door my van has, whether early or late

Is it me or does that handle look shorter?
1982 Diesel hightop. 1Y engine. Still work in progress but running and taking us on holidays.

The handle is shorter and it doesn't have the stop bit I've seen in early doors

looks like needs a bit of tlc too
