Couple of pictures of my new 1980 Devon

Post by onza100 »

Been reading threads here for a while now but this is my first post.

I've had a t25 caravelle since 2005 but its never been a runner, I bought it with no engine with the intention of restoring but other things have always got in the way.

This year it was decided that I either needed to start the project or get a van that was already running and needed less work.
Thats where the devon comes in. I picked it up cheaply with no mot but it now has one, only needing a few things.

My intentions are to try and restore to original as much as possible. But for now cleaning and getting the beds working is the aim.

Couple of photos of it below. If anyone has any devon units even if they are only good for templates please let me know.

Welcome to the mad house and to Devon ownership... Devon interiors though they look nice are not known for their long term quality being made mostly out of sawdust.

Yours looks a bit like mine... Is it a 1.6 or 2.0?

Hi and welcome to the club, we have a 1979 Devon and as said, the interior was not made to last. Good luck with the rebuild. :ok

Yes my bed panels are crumbling. There is a chap a few units down from me who does cnc wood cutting and he is making me new ones from plywood.
He can get plywood that is laminated the same colour as original so it should look the same.

Its a 2.0 with a single webber carb kit fitted.
