Sliding Door Won't Open

Hi

Looking for some help, the sliding door is shut and won't open. External handle moves as normal but lock does not seem to work anymore , with key or inside knob.

Have removed door card but unsure what I should be looking for.
Would welcome any simple advice as little mechanical experience.

Hi try adjusting the cable you have pictured by unscrewing, going (anticlockwise ) the adjuster, say about 5 full turns then try the door, if it works ok remember to tighten the locking nut to stop any future movement . Looks like the adjuster is right in so could be your problem. Good luck with it.

Hats off to you paperhouselad. Adjusted as you said but have lock nut and adjuster either side of the fitting, unlike above photo and seems to be working.
