ebay bargain?

Post by bluebus1987 »

I meant to share this before it ended. Sorry.

I thought of bidding myself. Then I remembered I have no money and nowhere to put it.
I hope someone restores it rather than cutting it up. (more)

Why bother sharing it after it has sold :-)

I got caught up with stuff as you do, and by the time I got to the PC it had finished. Usual ebay routine, you watch something for days and forget at the last minute.
Fairly obviously not worth sharing if it had gone to silly money with a couple of hours to go.
I think someone got a bit of a bargain, and I hope its gone to a good home.

Not at that price. It's only good for spares. Good for the seller to get what he got!

Why would the price dictate weather it was a viable restoration?
It was poorly advertised, which encouraged me to watch it.
For the money (£650) you get a full OEM westy top which are not cheap, big bumpers and side planks, power steering, buddy seat. all the stuff people spend money on to tart up their battered ex panel vans with knackered Wbx engines.
Donor car for TDI and flipped box A few hundred £s on panels and bobs your uncle ( all be it five years later )
Obviously impossible to tell from from photos, but it didn't look as bad as many in the important places, and you would end up with a better bus in the long run, rather than splashing out £5-6000 on a tired camper and still expecting to spend money to get it right.
If I hadn't already got two vans I'd have considered it.
