What fuel pump do I need.....help please!!

Post by rubyandcustard »

Hi.
My bus has decided not to work. It turns over but won't ignite and no fuel is going to the back.
So after doing the obvious checks I am going to get the fuel.pump changed.
but I don't know which type I need.
My van is a 1980 vwt25 1.9lt petrol Aircooled.
does anyone know which type I need and also the best place to get it?

In your situation it might be best to fit an electric one. Search for 'facet' on here. At least with an electric pump the line is always primed. Probably cheaper too.

Try taking off the intake cover and pouring in an eggcup of petrol. Should start and then fill the fuel lines. Sometimes takes half a dozen tries. If the fuel lines are emptying it seems like pump or rod are done but could be leak in lines.
