Few questions!

Post by Fozziebear »

Hi people,
Not long joined up i just had a couple of questions does a T25 pop top fit in a standard size garage or not as i'm looking at pop tops and high tops so just wondered?
Also whats it like driving a LHD T25 in the UK i have driven LHD abroad before but is it a lot different as you are still driving on the same side of the road just different side of the car?

Thanks

Hi Fozzie. Our pop top is a Syncro and won't fit in our garage. As for driving LHD in the UK, we have two LHD T3 vans, both of us drive them and its a piece of wee. You quickly get used to it.

Thanks for the quick reply yeah i can't see it being too hard like you say just getting used to it.
Would be nice if i could fit it in the garage

I take it LHD and power steering make it a lot easier too?

PAS makes driving easier generally, but no difference whether LHD or RHD.

One of our vans has PAS and one doesn't. Don't really notice the difference unless in a bog or Bucketbabe (Mrs Ww) is parking it. Tyre choice, profile and pressure, makes more difference tbh.

The newer the house the smaller the garage. You need a 1970's place or earlier to have a garage big enough for a tintop:

16' x 8'6 will just do it but you still have to leave the van via the slider.

I agree with SB, It all depends on the builder.
It's like saying I want a 'standard' house.

I arrived on a visit to a mate some years ago and he had just bought an American muscle car. So before my feet had touched the ground he whisked me off on a thrash around the country lanes in this throbbing V8 machine.
After a few high speed blind corners with me in the driving seat with no steering wheel or foot pedals I just put my head between my legs and atheist and all, gave praying a go.
Surprised to get back in one piece not in body bag I tackled his wife about it and she said that she had tried to stop him as he had been on the plonk all afternoon.

Moral of story:
1 - obvious.
2 - think about you passengers before getting a south paw vehicle.
