My conversion is all done, but I just can't get the flaming thing to start. It turns over very nicely, but just won't fire. The check engine light is flashing code 12, starter switch or circuit. How do I go about troubleshooting this error code?
Thanks
Iain

and this with a link to a Factory manual pdf download (might be dead though) suggests that the cold start wire isnt connected to the starter solenoid (my old TSR loom had this disconnected, took a lot of cranking when cold...)

Re: Subaru conversion ecu error code 12 - won't start
Thanks for this silverbullet. I'll check for voltage at the correct ecu pin and see if that's the issue. There are two wires in the new loom running from the ecu to the starter motor and I am assuming one of these is the signal wire to the ecu. I'll do some continuity testing and see there are any breaks in the wiring.

Re: Subaru conversion ecu error code 12 - won't start
Ok, back with an update.
The battery voltage is 12.7v at the terminals but drops to 9.7 at the starter solenoid when cranking, which I am guessing is too low to trigger the ecu.
I think my next thing to try is to replace the starter wire and probably the engine earth strap while I'm at it.
Cheers
Iain
