Hello folks,
Again my Gear Selector (T25 Left Hand Drive 5-Speed 1.6 Turbo Diesel 1987) has snapped. I spent months last time trying to source a 2nd hand one yet failed. All Trans Auto in Colchester repaired it by placing a rod inside and welding. The weld held but the rod used snapped. They have just repaired it again but have said I really need to find one to replace.
Does anybody know of a breaker/other?
Thanks to all for your support,
Tony

Sounds like they used a bit of mystery metal to me.
If a length of 8mm mild steel rod (for the later 14mm gear lever) is drifted down the entire length of the gear lever then plug welded over at each end and ring welded at the break, it wont fail again.
