			Morning peeps,
I need to replace the canvass on my westy and liked the look of the GoWesty ones Campervanculture had for sale as these had velcro removable fly screens & seemed pretty good quality.
Unfortunately according to Jed, Gowesty have stopped making them.
Has anyone used the Brickwerks or Gunzl ones and if so what are they like?
Bit hard to tell just from a pic on a website.
Twist my nipple nuts and send me to Alaska.

Referring to TheSamba, the Gunzl ones are exactly like the OE but have 3 windows. I like the design of the Nortwesty one (the one that Jed has).

I got a canvass from Gunzl with three vents. The front one on pop tops is the least useful. The side ones are useful as you can partially open these even when it's raining so you can cook on gas without suffocating. Mine works fine, but you need to make sure you order the appropriate size to fit - early and late ones are different sizes. If you search on this topic above you should find out more on the topic.

Not the side ones but you can unzip the front one which folds down to let the insects fly out before you go to bed!

I've never bothered with that. I just open the front door and stand on the wheel arch - better access for me.

Just checked and my van has the ally strips so I need a canvass for a 85 and later van.
Odd seeing as mine is an 83

Mine was built in 84 but registered as a completed westie in 85 and like yours has the ally strips needing the later canvas. It looks like the crossover point was flexible.

Some are stapled apparently. You need to check before ordering. People could be caught out on Gunzl site tho as they mention the year but nothing about the strips/staples.
I'm glad I do have the ally strips tho. Got to be easier than removing hundreds of staples
