I've just swapped my dg for a subaru engine and I've found these wires that don't seem to be needed. I think they are the carb wires from the dg but am not really sure. The main red wire must have broken when I was taking the old engine out

air intake heater element and choke heater wiring for the carb as you guessed

Thanks Aiden. Will the red wire be carrying any current? Do I need to disconnect it at the other end?

It's power comes from relay No. 1 in the junction box on the bulkhead
AGG 2.0L 8V. (Golf GTi MkIII)
