Fitting pre '85 radiator grill to post '85 van

Hi

To cut a long story short, I need a replacement round headlight radiator grill (large badge) for my '89 van, but they seem to be as rare as hens' teeth. I'm not a purist, and would be happy to fit a older (small badge) grill but does anyone know if the fixtures/fittings the same?

I've checked the forums for an answer but can't seem to get one...hoping it would bolt straight on

As far as I know all grills are interchangable but never actually tried it.
My late van has a small badge grill on it.

I note that JK stock the old one, just need to get the AA to pay for it seeing as they lost the bloody thing...

Have you tried a breaker for the right grill secondhand.
Check if the grill comes with the fasteners, and badge, they are relatively expensive

I fitted a chrome 90mm badge to mine off some other vw

the single rounds all fit afaik, best if they have the metal pins rather than the plaggy ones
