Standard Subaru Sump or not??

Post by mshaw1980 »

Hello

Has anybody done a subaru conversion and just left the original sump on rather than shortened one? My van is not lowered and I have no plans to offroad other than driving on some grass to pitch at campsites. I havent got my van back on the ground yet so I cannot see how high above the ground it sits. Thoughts appreciated :-)

it will be about 150-180mm above the road, big speed bumps and kerbs can be an issue so be careful when reversing in particular
I still have stock sump on mind as I didn't want a small car one or a cheap german one and the fellows one wasn't available when I finished mine and Dai and I and Fabzzz still plan on making something good for the uk market; when we get time

Thanks Aidan

Let me know when you have sorted a sump then as I may be interested...especially if it fits the RJES engine mount. :-)

Mine's still standard sump on stock suspension, but I have fitted bigger wheels (17") which helps with the gearing & also lifts is up a bit, not had any problems but am mindful of large speed bumps. 8)
