Brake Flare Nut sizes

Post by slowcoach »

Hi all-
just before i go and order the wrong sized flare spanner, what size(s) do i need to change the front and rear flexi hoses? ive just measured the front and i believe its 11mm, but the rear was a bit hard to tell and too dark.

Ive read that its very advisable to use a flare spanner as opposed to a usual open ended spanner.. would i be correct? Ive not done any brake line work before, but theres always a first time for everything. ive bought the 4 hoses from brickwerks. as always ill be cautious with safety,
Cheers!
john.

Thanks Elvis!
The 14mm is the flexi side of the union, right? So a normal hex spanner would be fine for that side I guess..?
