Hmmm, mine looks nothing like that. Maybe it's a random motor factors version.
I'll check the pinout tomorrow to be certain.

Thanks for the help.

Fairly sure its a tall 4-pin relay Kev although I'd need to check. I have a similar issue as I want to change it for one that can cope with LEDs.

Just had a thought, I've a towbar warning light on the dash. I wonder if that's why my relay is different.
Guess I need to investigate & report back.

I doubt a tow bar would make any difference...mine doesn't

Standard indicator relays use three pins marked 49, 49a and 31
Vehicles with a towbar use a 4 pin relay. 49, 49a, 31 and C2. C2 goes to the trailer warning light on the dash.

What's the purpose of the warning light?
Never really understood that.

If wired correctly it only flashes with the indicators when a trailer is connected. It is to show that the trailer is connected.

The warning light tells you the trailer indicators are working, as it is a legal requirement to have some form of bulb failure indication for front and rear indicators.

But a standard one (21) works as a substitute - just wont light up the light on the dash when hooked up to trailer
