Fuel Hose into Fuel Pump

Post by jamesakers »

I fitted the fuel like kit from Brickparts-UK this weekend. Everything went on fine except for the 5.6mm from the fuel tank into the fuel pump.

The male connector at the top is larger than the one going out to the carb, I softened the hose in hot water and managed to get it one a few mm and clamped but i'm concerned it's not all the way on.

When looking at the fuel pumps online it seems some have connectors the same size and some have a larger one on top like mine.

Do you think it will be OK as is or should I get a larger hose?

I took my new fuel pump to my local motor store and they gave me a fuel hose with clips for £7.99 per metre...nice fit on the pump but loose on the other end on the plastic pipe.

I could use a Fuel Line Reducer: https://www.brickwerks.co.uk/t3-parts/t ... m-6mm.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

That would allow me to go from 7mm to 5.6mm,

I had the same issue when I changed my fuel lines and pump, and ended up using the reducer. It works fine.
I did have a couple of days where I kept going back to look and make sure it wasn't leaking, but it is perfectly OK.
