Posting here as got no reply in wheels section - So in a separate thread I asked for advice about a wheel swap and I've swapped my wheels for 15" Mefros with 215/75/15 bfg wheels.
About 2 weeks ago I also had wishbone bushes changed.
Took the van out after swapping the wheels last night & I'm getting a big clunking sound when the suspension compresses over speed bumps or dips - going slow is ok. I've assumed it's the wheel swap has done something so could swap back to the carats to check that.
I also bought a new trolley jack and might have been a bit exuberant when dropping the van - took a while to get used to it.
Any ideas whats could be causing the noise - where do the wheels normally rub after a swap - it looks like they have good clearance. Should I just swap the wheels back to eliminate other issues? pain in the a*se...
Not sure if this should be here or in wheels section...

Re: Clunking on speed bump after wishbone or wheel change
last summer we developed a terrible clonk. I spent ages trying to work out where it was coming from and in the end gave up and asked the garage to have a look while in for the MOT.
Apparently non of the bushes were worn so they drove it back and forward over bumps to work it out. Turned out to be the D bushes that secure the anti-role bar. They looked fine but after I replaced them and compared them they were different. Probably just about the only suspension component I would tackle myself....

Ultimately, are we not all air cooled?

Interesting... Are the D bushes the 2 innermost ones?
Had a quick look this morning before work & they seem to be ok. I need to investigate more - swapping the wheels back is the obvious test I suppose
