Registering Imported T25 California

Post by PEET »

Hi
I have recently imported a T25 from Spain. I have imported around 5 years ago but just want to check if the laws have changed??
I have insured it on the chassis number, will be getting the MoT on chassis number Friday (with luck!).
Is it just form filling now or do I have to declare it to HMC&E which I havent had to do before??
Thanks in advance..

Just had to do the same chap. Even imported from Europe 'n old you need a NOVA.

Download form off HMR+C website.

You cant submit (DVLA wont process) unless you include a NOVA certficate from HMRC.

Good luck if you try doing it online, i tried for days but system was always screwed. Do it within ten days of arrival or get creative with import date otherwise they get arsey.

Thanks Elvis. Is the HMC bit easy online?
Do we pay anything for EU imports do you know? May have to get creative with the price too if so...

because its 5 years ago you should be fine, if importing now you have (i think) 14 days to pay, my syncro had been in the country for about 5 years unregistered

we're in the same boat, except my form from the DVLA arrived today. there's a lot of questions that they say get from the certificate of conformity but i don't have one. aren't cars over a certain age immune from such questions as 'engine speed sound level' or 'CO2 g/km'? are we to leave these blank or any idea where i can get a certificate of conformity?

we're insured..mot'd..nova'd..serviced and ready to go but for this last hurdle

Found it pretty straightforward, no vat to pay, letter from Hmrc to say so.Vw supplied a letter with date of manufacture, guy at dvla very helpful, van had been in the country for five years,PO couldn't be arsed so I expected some grief but was pleasantly surprised.

Hi sixsprings, the questions you need to fill out are 3 6 7 8 9 10 18 27 29 30 31 32 33 45 48 49 50 5153 54,for number 50 put that it was made in Germany so it doesn't need Type Approval,i put a covering letter in explaining how i came by the van and how much i'd paid, you may not need to do this, but i did and it worked for me,i feared the worst when i sent it off,but it was all good, got my reg number in about 10 days, hope this helps, cheers Dave
