I have some sikaflex EBT left over any one used this to stick the step rubbers down or should I just use contact adhesive?

just done ours, used ordinary builders silicone, put about six blobs on then held down with bricks to set, worked well.

Don't use silicone! The acetic acid starts rust. It's a bit of a no-no on metal.
Mine are held on with polyurethane adhesive (same as expensive Sikaflex), blocked the holes and ensured that they were sealed all round the edges. Only problem is if you need to get them off in the future.

Think I'll use the sikaflex and they can rot from the bottom not the top

It was neutral curing silicone, used blobs which left a drain gap between rubber and metal to stop wet building up.
