Alarm

I recently bought a t25 on close inspection I found a V.A.G. alarm fitted next to the radiator. Tracing the wires, they all went to the fuse box apart from a green and blue wire. The Blue wire is just left in a coil and not connected and the green wire heads towards the back of the van as yeti have been unable to find the end. I have a key for the alarm but this will not turn but I am unable to find a switch to engage the alarm. I am reluctant to fiddle with the alarm to much in case I set it off and I am unable to switch it off. Could anybody give me any advice on this type of alarm and how it should be wired and switched on. thank you in anticipation

looked at the wiring diagrams but cant seem to find mine I will try to upload a jpg so you can see which one I have.

Now I am in real trouble I looked at the joining block and it was so corroded that some of the wires have just come away so the van will not start. I have to now try and sort out where all the wires go and how to switch it on and off. its a good job I looked or this could of happened on the road. Any body out there offer any advice apart from if it isn't broke don't fix it.

I doubt there is an easy "just connect this wire to this wire" solution here.

I would trace all the wires back to where they go at the other end and simply remove them entirely. Then it's just a case of putting the ignition circuit back to standard. There's not that much to doing that, but it would require a test meter and a basic knowledge of either how an ignition system like this works, or being able to understand the Haynes wiring diagrams (the latter being an art in itself).

It's often frustrating for me when I read posts like yours, as, if you were near to me, I could sort electrical problems like this out no problem, but it's hard to try and explain it all from a distance

Thank you for your advice but I went to Suffolk campers and he fixed it for me. the alarm is still connected so I am still looking for the switch to turn it on or off any ideas please let me know.

I too found an alarm by accident. The wiring block is also corroded, I just left it alone. I was fitting a lights-on alarm and found a little switch under the dash on the drivers side. It is quite low in the foot well and I could only see it when squatting on the ground looking up.
